Outstanding little hotel tucked away just south of the fort in a style modern sandstone building with stunning fort views from the rooftop terrace restaurant and immaculate and beautifully decoreated rooms. The only caveat is that the cheaper rooms are a bit small - it's well worth coughing up for one of the superb larger rooms (which also have a/c and TV). The same family also run the neighbouring Oasis Haveli and Star Haveli, which have further rooms of similar standard.

Shahi Palace (Map p244 (T) 255920; shahipalacehotel.com; Shiv Rd.Rs500-1500 Shahi palace has lovely rooms with window seates, sandstone walls and carved stone or wooden beds, though management seems to have rested on past rave reviews. the elegent rooftop has a fantastic for view and acceptable food.
